1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Knows application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Knows is an AI-powered relationship intelligence application that analyzes your conversations and communications to provide personalized insights, emotional guidance, and relationship coaching. The App connects to messaging platforms with your explicit consent to offer contextual advice and support.

3. Eligibility and Age Requirements

You must be at least 18 years old to use this App
You must have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
Use of the App is prohibited in jurisdictions where such use would be illegal

4. Data Collection and Privacy

Data We Collect

Conversation messages from connected platforms (Instagram), accessed only with your explicit authorization
Screenshots you upload for analysis during onboarding
Text you type into AI features (Ask, Re-write, Self-reflect)
Profile information you provide (name, age)
Questionnaire responses (relationship context questions Q1–Q4)

How We Collect Data

Conversation messages are retrieved via your Instagram account connection, which requires your explicit login and consent
Screenshots are uploaded directly by you
All other data is entered by you within the App

Third-Party AI Processing

To provide AI-powered relationship insights, your data is sent to Anthropic, Inc. via their Claude AI service for processing
Specifically, the following data is shared with Anthropic: conversation messages, screenshots, text you type into AI features, and questionnaire responses
Anthropic processes this data solely to generate responses for your use within the App
Anthropic's data protection policies provide equal or greater protection of your personal data, including: no use of your data to train their general AI models, encryption in transit and at rest, and data retention limits consistent with their enterprise privacy commitments

How Your Data Is Used

Generating personalized relationship insights and analysis
Powering the Ask (AI advisor), Re-write (message rewriter), and Self-reflect (message analysis) features
Creating your communication style profile for personalized suggestions
No personal data is sold, shared for advertising purposes, or used for any purpose other than providing the App's features

Your Control Over Data Sharing

A mandatory consent screen is presented before you can access any App features, clearly identifying Anthropic as the data recipient
You can disable AI Data Sharing at any time in the App's Settings, which immediately stops all data transmission to Anthropic
You can request full data deletion at any time through the App settings
Upon account deletion, personal data is permanently removed within 30 days

5. Platform Integration Compliance

Connection to third-party platforms (Instagram) is governed by their respective Terms of Service
You are responsible for ensuring you have permission to analyze conversations with other parties
The App uses authorized methods for platform integration
We are not affiliated with or endorsed by connected platforms

6. Subscription Terms

Auto-Renewable Subscriptions

Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends
Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID Account Settings
No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during the active subscription period

Pricing

Subscription prices are clearly displayed in the App and App Store
Prices may vary by region and are subject to applicable taxes
Price changes will be communicated in advance with the option to cancel

7. AI-Generated Content and Limitations

AI Accuracy

AI-generated insights and suggestions are for informational purposes only
The App does not provide professional therapy, counseling, or medical advice
AI responses may contain errors and should not be solely relied upon for important decisions
Users should exercise judgment when following AI-generated suggestions

Professional Services

Knows is not a replacement for professional relationship counseling, therapy, or mental health services
If you are experiencing serious relationship or mental health issues, please consult qualified professionals

8. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

Use the App to harass, stalk, or harm others
Analyze conversations without consent from other parties where legally required
Attempt to reverse engineer or extract AI models
Use the service for illegal activities or to violate others' privacy
Share login credentials or account access with others
Attempt to access other users' data or accounts

9. Intellectual Property

The App, including its algorithms and design, is owned by Knows
You retain ownership of your personal data and conversations
You grant us license to process your data solely to provide the service

10. Data Security and Retention

We employ industry-standard encryption and security measures
Personal conversation data is transmitted using encryption
You can request data deletion at any time through the App settings
Upon account deletion, personal data is permanently removed within 30 days

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

Knows provides the service "as is" without warranties of any kind
We are not liable for any damages arising from use of AI suggestions or insights
Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for subscriptions in the last 12 months
We are not responsible for actions taken based on AI-generated content

12. Privacy and Third-Party Services

Messaging Platforms

Integration with messaging platforms requires separate authorization for each platform
We comply with each platform's data usage policies and terms
Third-party platform access can be revoked at any time through platform settings
Platform policy changes may affect App functionality

AI Processing (Anthropic, Inc.)

Anthropic, Inc. is our third-party AI processor, providing the Claude AI service used to analyze your data and generate insights
Anthropic is contractually obligated to process your data only as instructed by Knows and not for their own purposes
Anthropic provides the same or equal level of data protection as described in these Terms

13. Account Termination

We may terminate accounts for:

Violation of these Terms
Illegal use of the service
Non-payment of subscription fees
Abuse of AI features or other users

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms with advance notice through the App
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
Material changes will require explicit acceptance

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, United States
Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration
Class action lawsuits are waived

17. Apple-Specific Terms

These Terms comply with Apple App Store Review Guidelines
Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no responsibility for the App
In case of conflicts between these Terms and App Store Terms, App Store Terms prevail for App Store-related matters

By using Knows, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
